Calaveras Enterprise article on Copperopolis Veterans Day Parade

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 12118 has encountered a lot of firsts this year. Having just officially formed this past March, the newest Calaveras County VFW Post, based out of Copperopolis, will hold its first-ever Copperopolis Veterans Day Parade from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, on Main Street.

Post Commander Allen Gilbert hopes that the event draws enough support and enthusiasm to warrant an annual parade each year.

“There are certain days we set aside to honor our veterans. They aren’t required, but we want to honor them,” he said. “We sent out fliers to every veterans organization within 50 miles inviting them to participate.”
