The annual toy run was started and sponsored by ABATE (American Brotherhood Aimed Towards Education) Local 10 until 2010 when AMA(American Motorcycle Association) Chapter 2466 took it over. It has been run by the same people for many years just under a different organization. This event has been sanctioned by the AMA for almost 10 years.
The run goes through downtown Sonora, over to Angles Camp on 49, up towards Vallecito then over Parrots Ferry to Columbia then back through Sonora ending at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds around noon.
Anyone can participate, even if they don’t ride. Everyone is welcome and we encourage families to attend. If someone doesn’t ride they can register at the fairgrounds in Sonora after 11:30 a.m. The Sonora Sunrise Rotary has their annual Cajun Fest in the John Muir building in the evening on the same day and they donate the use of the building to us for the run.
