Thank yous were also extended to IGA from the Cub Scouts, Copper Veterans, Copper School and Copper Food Pantry, for their support.
Young's IGA added Copperopolis in 2002 to its family of stores; other locations include Lockford and Pioneer. In both Lockford and Pioneer they host a large golf tournament to help with the schools, in Copper they have supplied the Steak & Shrimp fest fundraiser for Copper School with all the food and alcohol since 2003. Kevin Young asks vendors to help, but whether the do or not, he feels it important to be an active participant in the community and helps where he can.
Copper Parks and Recs Tim Reid said that he does what he has to do to keep Parks and Recs going, but pointed out that he is all about the kids, heading the Kids Camp every summer for the past 7 years. Bruce Reid stated that they are always looking for volunteers and if interested to call 209-785-PARK.
The next upcoming event hosted by Parks and Recs will be the collaborative effort by many Copper businesses and community groups, Copper Clean Up Day, the third weekend in April.
