True to form, Snaps Coffee House again, brought a fine vinter to Copperopolis, introducing the community to some fabulous wines along with some tantalizing appetizers from Drifter's Marina and mini pizza's from Panini's.
While my wine tastes lean towards "stomp on 'em and put 'em in a bottle" Newsome Harlow taught me there is more to wine than simply a sweet cover. Scott Klann, owner /winemaker of Newsome Harlow poured eloquently, explaining each wine with as little information or as much as a patron wished.
The tasting line up they offered at Snaps on Friday night was rich, clean, and enticing. While opinions may differ, the Newsome Harlow Zinfandel was, in my mind, a clear winner. I am not a Zinfandel lover, by no means, hand me a Muscat or Gewurztraminer and I'm good to go, but I learned that wines, like people come in many varieties, all beautiful, all intricate and all cleverly designed. Enter the Newsome Harlow Zin...a wonderful blend of smooth, rich, bold, sweet, with a hint of zing.
Surrounded by friends, great music (provided by Danny Burton), and wonderful wines, was by my gauge, a great way to spend a Friday evening.
Looking forward to the next wine tasting at Snap's.
