Washington D.C. Internships
Qualifications: My Washington D.C. office offers internships for undergraduate students who have completed four semesters of undergraduate studies with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0. Interns should be able to work at least 20 hours a week. This internship is unpaid but can be used for college credit in coordination with the student’s university.
Responsibilities: Interns will be responsible at a minimum for sorting mail, answering phones, conducting tours, and researching legislation and policy issues. Interns with good time management skills and initiative will also have the opportunity to become involved in a wider array of legislative work particularly regarding my committee assignments.
Process: Mail or fax your resume, cover letter, and two writing samples to my Washington D.C. office to the attention of Sandra Wiseman. She will contact applicants to arrange a phone interview.
Deadlines: For the spring semester, all paperwork must be received no later than November 1. For the summer, all paperwork must be received no later than March 1. For the fall semester, all paperwork must be received no later than July 1.
