Angels Camp PD press release re: Mokelumne Hill Resident Arrested for Multiple Charges

On 03/03/2014 at approximately 9:20 AM, an officer from the Angels Camp Police Department conducted a traffic stop of a gray Mercury sedan on North Main Street in the Mark Twain Center for having suspended registration and the driver not wearing a seatbelt.

The driver was identified as 36 year old Mokelumne Hill resident, Joshua Ftacek. Ftacek advised the officer that he did not have a valid driver’s license and that he may have warrants from the Modesto area.

It was confirmed that Ftacek did not have a valid driver’s license and that he had a felony warrant for his arrest from Modesto, and a traffic warrant from Merced County. 


Subsequent to arrest, Ftacek’s vehicle was searched and the officer located a loaded firearm and approximately 32 grams of methamphetamine in the vehicle. 

In addition to the warrants, Ftacek was arrested for charges related to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
