22, of Red Bluff, Calif.; assigned to 6th Squadron, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga.; died July 30, in Puli Alam, Afghanistan, of injuries caused by indirect fire.
Army Spc. Nickolas S. Welch
Died August 6, 2013 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom
26, of Mill City, Ore.; assigned to 3rd Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga.; died Aug. 6 at Walter Reed National Medical Center, Bethesda, Md., of injuries caused July 23 by an improvised explosive device in Soltan Kheyl, Afghanistan. Also killed were Army 1st Lt. Jonam Russell, Army Sgt. Stefan M. Smith and Army Spc. Rob L. Nichols.
