Mike Marshall and Caterina Lichtenberg will be performing at the Twisted Oak Concert Series September 7, 2012 at 7 pm. For tickets visit http://www.twistedoak.com/events
Mike Marshall has created some of the most
adventurous music of our times since launching his career as the young
boy-wonder mandolinist/guitarist of the original David Grisman Quartet.
Since those days he has gone on to collaborate on both recordings and
tours with Bela Fleck, Edgar Meyer, Joshua Bell, Stephane Grappelli,
Chris Thile and Mark O'Connor, to name but a few.
Caterina Lichtenberg holds what might be the only
University professorship for mandolin at the Music Conservatory in
Cologne, Germany. She directs the Baroque Ensemble there, has over 10
cds to her credit and has traveled the globe for the past 20 years with
tours in the U.S., Canada, Japan, China and most of the countries of
Europe.
Together these two virtuosos will take you on a journey of the
mandolin. From its Italian roots during the Baroque period to the shores
of Ireland, the hills of Appalachia, and to the beaches of Brazil and
Venezuela.
Don’t miss an exciting evening of mandolin virtuosity like you have never seen before.
