Deputy Position Now Funded

At the July 5, 2012 Board of Supervisors meeting the resolution to fund a vacant unfunded Deputy II position was voted down with Tryon voting 'no.' The preliminary agenda for the July 10, 2012 Board of Supervisors meeting held no minute order to adopt a resolution funding a Deputy II position. An updated preliminary agenda for the July 10, 2012 meeting was subsequently released including the following agenda item :
Adopt a MINUTE ORDER authorizing the filling of a vacant unfunded Deputy Sheriff II
position and approving a Budget Transfer increasing the FY 2012/13 appropriation for the
Sheriff's Office by $90,984 as a result of reducing General Fund Contingencies by $21,404
and increasing Federal Payments in Lieu of Taxes Program Revenue by $69,580,
Requiring a 4/5 vote of the Board of Supervisors. (Continued from July 5, 2012); Board of
Supervisors- Board action:

With Tryon expressing concern, the vote to pass the minute order was 5-0.

The position within the Sheriff Department left vacant due to the transfer of a Deputy to the Probation Department with use of funding from AB 109 monies, has now been backfilled, as per the original agreement.
