Sheriff Dept Press release re: Subject Arrested Near White Pines for Burglary

Subject Arrested Near White Pines for Burglary

On 8-17-13 at approx. 6:50pm deputies responded to a residence located in the 1200 block of Blagen Road, Arnold for a reported burglary. Caretakers at the property had arrived on scene and discovered extensive damage to a fifth wheel trailer in the drive-way from what appeared to be an attempted break in at several access points to the trailer. A window to the residence was found pried open with items moved around inside the garage and items gone through inside the house. The caretakers found a male subject hiding inside a shed and held that subject at gunpoint until deputies arrived. The subject, later identified as 26 year old Curtis Blaney of Arnold, claimed to be a passerby, but evidence discovered inside the residence lead to Blaney’s arrest for 460(A)PC-First Degree Burglary, 594(B)(1)PC-Vandalism over $400, and 664/459PC-Attempted Burglary. He was booked into the Calaveras County Jail on those charges. No further information is available at this time.
