California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) Secretary
Jeff Beard made the following statement today in response to the U.S.
Supreme Court denying a stay of the Three-Judge Court order to continue
reducing the state’s prison population:
“While
California’s stay request was denied today, the state will pursue its
appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court so that the merits of the case can be
considered without delay.”
