Sheriff Dept Press release re: Two Men Arrested in Connection with the Tower Gas Station Robbery

(San Andreas, CA) On April 1, 2013 at approximately 10:10 PM Calaveras County sheriff’s deputies responded to the Tower Gas Station in San Andreas for a report of an armed robbery. At approx. 10:05 PM on the same date two masked male suspects entered the Tower Gas Station in San Andreas, located on Highway 49. The two men, one armed with a baseball bat, robbed the store and stole the cash register from the clerk. The two masked suspects fled the area on foot and disappeared into a field behind the store. A store security video recorded the images of the suspects. Approximately $400 in cash, along with miscellaneous merchandise, was stolen from the store.


On April 3, 2013 Calaveras County sheriff’s detectives served a search warrant at a trailer in the Gold Strike Mobile Home Park, located on the 1900 block of Gold Strike Road in San Andreas. The trailer was the home of Suspects Jamie and Justin Ritchie both 18 years of age (twin brothers). Evidence of the robbery, including the baseball bat, was located inside the house and inside Jamie and Justin Ritchie’s vehicle. Both suspects were arrested in connection with the robbery and are currently being held at the Calaveras County Jail on charges of robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and possession of stolen property.

This case is still under investigation.
