Sonora PD press release re:drug arrest

22 May 2012, at approx. 6:30 pm, an Officer from the Sonora Police Department was flagged down by a Wal Mart Loss Prevention Officer regarding a suspicious male subject who had just exited the store.

The Loss Prevention Officer reported the subject had been in the restroom bathing and washing his clothing for over an hour. The Loss Prevention Officer also noticed some type of powder on the floor of the restroom; and an area where a small fire had been started.
Officers contacted the subject outside the store and identified him as Brandon King, 31 of Suisun. King was exhibiting signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance. A search of King revealed heroin, tin foil with heroin residue on it and other drug paraphernalia. It is possible that King built the small fire in the restroom to heat the heroin so it could be ingested.
King was placed under arrest and transported to the Tuolumne County Jail where he was booked for felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
