Copperopolis man’s daughter crowned Miss USA

On June 19 in Las Vegas, Copperopolis resident John Campanella sat in a 7,000-seat auditorium and watched with millions of viewers as his daughter, Alyssa Campanella, was crowned Miss USA.

“I thought it was great and fantastic,” Campanella said about watching his daughter win the pageant, held at the Theatre for Performing Arts in Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. “She’s kind of the atypical Miss USA.”
