Calaveras County Sheriff's Office Press Release - Drowning Hogan Reservoir

On 7/4/2011 approximately 3: 15 p.m. dispatch received a call regarding a possible drowning in the
area of Wrinkle Cove at Hogan Reservoir.
A 26 year old Asian man from Stockton was swimming with his family along with about 150 other
swimmers in Wrinkle Cove. Witnesses told deputies that the man was a weak swimmer. The man was
not wearing a life jacket and went under the water and did not resurface. Witnesses estimated that the
man was under water for approximately 5-15 minutes before they pulled him out. Emergency Services
were on scene when the man was taken out of the water. At that time the victim had a weak heartbeat.
The man was transported to Mark Twain St. Josephs Hospital and was pronounced dead on arrival.
