CAL FIRE Announces 2012 Western States Wildland Urban Interference Grant Applications Being Accepted

CAL FIRE announces the call for 2012 Western States WUI Grant Applications! Local participation is encouraged in the WUI Grant Program, which focuses on mitigating wildfire risks in the wildland urban interface.
Congress is providing funding assistance to states through the USDA Forest Service State and Private Forestry programs. The focus of much of this additional funding is mitigating risk in Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) areas. In the West, the State Fire Assistance (SFA) funding is available and awarded through a competitive process with emphasis on hazard fuel reduction, information and education, and community and homeowner action.
