Olsen’s veterans state park access bill heads to Governor

SACRAMENTO– Today, Assemblymember Kristin Olsen’s (R-Riverbank) AB 150 passed off the Assembly floor and is now headed to Governor Jerry Brown.

AB 150 will honor veterans and current active duty military members by authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide them with free admission to California’s state parks on Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day.

“I am hopeful that Governor Brown will sign this bill into law as a way of honoring our veterans and soldiers to commemorate and thank them for their selfless service to our country,” said Olsen.

AB 150 is supported by a wide array of veterans groups and by the family of naturalist John Muir, an author and early advocate of preservation of wilderness in the United States and particularly California.
