The Angels Camp Police Department made three arrests
related to domestic violence in a 24 hour period.
On 09-27-13, at approximately 1:20 PM, officers were
dispatched to the 300 block of S. Main Street on a report of a physical fight.
Upon arrival the involved parties were already gone. Later in the day, at
approximately 3:30 PM, the victim arrived at the police department and reported
that she was physically assaulted. An arrest affidavit was completed for the
suspect and he was located the next morning, 09-28-13, at approximately 9 AM,
in the 300 block of S. Main Street. James Rick Moore, a 45 year old Angels Camp
resident, was arrested and booked into the Calaveras County Jail on charges
related to battery resulting in an injury, false imprisonment, sexual battery,
damaging a telephone line, and sexual assault.
On 09-27-13, at approximately 8:30 PM, officers were
dispatched to the 700 block of Casey Street on a report of a physical family
fight. Further investigation revealed that three subjects were involved in an
alcohol fueled fight that resulted in minor injuries. Ruben Daniel Gomez, a 45
year old Angels Camp resident, was arrested and booked on charges related to
battery resulting in an injury, child endangerment, and lewd behavior in the
presence of a child.
On 09-28-13, at approximately 2:15 PM, a witness that
desires to remain anonymous reported seeing a man physically assaulting a woman
in a parking lot in the 200 block of S. Main Street. The witness observed the
man punching the woman in the stomach and then following the woman as she was
trying to walk away. The suspect reportedly grabbed her and walked the woman
back to a vehicle and they got in and left the area. The witness provided a
vehicle description and a license plate, and officers located the vehicle and
stopped it in the 700 block of S. Main Street. The victim was uncooperative,
but per the independent witness statement an arrest was made. Dale Edward
Roberts, a 48 year old Rescue, CA resident, was arrested on charges related to
battery and public intoxication.
As a
public service reminder the members of the Angels Camp Police Department would
like to note that the month of October is designated by the National Coalition
Against Domestic Violence as domestic violence awareness month.
