Twisted Oak Winery is pleased to announce that the next show of our 2013 Twisted Folk
Concert Series will be a special “unrehearsed and 100% lint-free” collaboration
between multi-instrumentalist and renowned sideman David Lindley and his special guest, the equally eclectic Joe Craven.
“In 2012, David Lindley and
Joe Craven played at Twisted Oak, but on separate nights,” said winery owner
Jeff Stai. “Only later did we find out that David and Joe have a long history
of impromptu jam sessions together at various concerts and festivals. So we
thought, ‘Hey, why not just bring them together here on purpose, and turn them
loose on an unsuspecting public?’”
Joe Craven had this to say
about the collaboration: “Two men,
each operating varied tools from the analog music-making box. One - a prince of
polyester, the other - a fashion insultant, and both - from the heavy
hued/graphically complex end of it all. The music? Diverse and mischievous. The
intention? Complicated. The methodology?
Rehearsal is for cowards. Welcome to the world of David Lindley with guest Joe
Craven.”
A special dinner of pasta,
choice of sausage or vegetarian, and salad will be
available for purchase, along with wine, popcorn, and soft drinks. Concertgoers
are welcome to bring their own picnics but we ask that no outside alcoholic
beverages be brought in.
Seating at Twisted Folk
concerts is outdoor festival style, first-come, first-served – bring a low beach-type chair or a blanket.
We’re on top of a hill and there is always an evening breeze – it can get a
little chilly after dark so please plan ahead.
