The annual summer reading program was kicked off June 7, 2011 at the Copperopolis Branch Library.
This years theme :One World, Many Stories.
Promoting literacy, the Copper Library is emphasizing literacy among youth, encouraging readers of every level to participate in the summer fun of reading. As children read they will need to keep track of their reading time and log it. When they return their book at the library or check a new one out, they turn in their log sheet to be checked by the staff at the branch library. For each 15 minutes of reading time, the child will then get a ticket. Tickets can then be turned in for prizes, or saved up to redeem for larger prizes.
The public library summer reading program is a fun way to include reading and related activities into summer family time. It also helps children maintain and improve reading skills.
The summer reading program runs from June 7, 2011 to August 13, 2011.
