Proud Copper Run T-Shirt Design Winner Alexis Benders

Each year Copper students can participate in an art contest for the annual Copper Run t-shirt design. This year’s winner is second grader Alexis Benders.

Alexis is a student in Mrs. Crawford’s 2nd grade class. Her favorite subjects are playtime and measuring. When she learned she was the winner of the contest she “felt very happy.” Alexis plans on running in the Copper Run on January 22 at Blackcreek Park.

Proceeds from the race benefit Copperopolis Elementary and Copperopolis Volunteer Firefighter Association. Last year’s proceeds purchased new sports equipment and new team sport uniforms for the children of Copper School.
