Friday finalized the end of the Christmas season for Copperopolis with the downing of the towns Christmas tree in Copperopolis Town Square.
Each year near the end of November Copperopolis Town Square rings in the Christmas season with a Christmas Tree lighting ceremony for the whole town. Not just any tree lighting ceremony and certainly not just any Christmas tree. This year’s tree topped out at 40 feet tall and was decorated with over 500 lights and decorations. Carols were sung, hot chocolate was consumed and the community became one. As the weeks followed Santa and Mrs. Claus came to visit, old fashioned carriage rides through the square were given and more caroling occurred.
Town Square knows how to ring in the holidays….up next? The Chili cook-off, not a holiday, but here in Copper it may just become one.
