Calaveras County Fair Vendor applications now available

The Calaveras County Fair is seeking vendors for the May 15-18, 2014 event. Inside and outside exhibit areas are available now.

    Rates are from $200 for crafters with handmade items to $1100 for prime commercial space. Vendors receive 8 daily fair passes and a parking credential. they are required to have insurance. For more information call 736-2561 or CLICK HERE for vendor application.

Megan Borzone brings home the ribbons at County Fair

Megan Borzone placed first in her weight class, Reserve Champion 4-H/Grange Market Lamb and 3rd best lamb overall at the Calaveras County Fair! She topped it off with 2nd in intermediate showmanship and 6th in advanced showmanship.

The Calaveras County Fair is looking for local talent to perform on our lawn stage. It is the perfect place to showcase your talents. Performers receive Fair tickets in lieu of payment. Copper Kids Reign Supreme in Livestock Competition at County Fair 2012

The Round Robin event is a Livestock Showmanship Contest. Each grand champion showmanship winner from Horse, Beef, Sheep, Swine, and Meat Goat compete for ALL AROUND Showman. Each member in turn shows or exhibits their knowledge of each of the 5 species, receiving a score from 1-10.

Alpaca Competition at the Fair

The Alpaca competition for the annual Calaveras County Fair occurred on May 12, 2012 at the Frogtown arena.

Competing this year from Bret Harte FFA was Lindsay Michaels, Julia Rohrabaugh, and Lexie Loring. Competing from Copper Hills 4-H was Duncan Welsh and Pearl Rollings.
Judging was by Judge George Caldwell.

For the 4-H Duncan Welch won Grand Champion and Pearl Rollings won was Reserve Champion. 
For the FFA Lindsay Michaels took Grand Champion and Lexie Loring took Reserve Champion

Teen Dance Party at the Calaveras County Fair

The Calaveras County Fair will be hosting a Teen Dance at “The Pad” during the 2012 Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee. Friday May 18 and Saturday May 19, from 7:00 - !0:00 there will be a dance for teens only. The DJ both evenings will be Bret Harte graduate Travis Bardsley. This is an alcohol free zone. The program is being sponsored by Sonora Regional Community Hospital. The dance is included with the price of admission. For more information contact the Fairgrounds at 209.736.2561.
