First Friday Concerts looking for youth talent

The monthly First Friday music event is still wanting to hear from your talented teen!
John Campanella, coordinator of First Friday concerts, is sending out a call out to all musically inclined Copper teens.
"The next first Friday 3/2/2012 will be the last one inside as we will move outside in April. However, we still would like to see more performances this next show. Contact me at johnc@caltel.com or through the Copper Gazette or Copperopolis Town Square."

Calling all Copper Teen Talent...

John Campanella, engineer, entrepreneur, inventor, rocker and creator of First Friday concerts in Town Square is looking for some local teen talent.

First Fridays is a monthly musical event that takes place in Snaps at Town Square the first Friday night of the month from 5-8:30. John sets up all the sound equipment and lights and rocks the town with tunes from the 80's and '90's. Though his heart is in the music his passion is in promoting local youth talent.

John began to play guitar when he was just 13 years old. He remembers the feeling when people would listen to his music and more over the feeling he had when people appreciated his work.

He wants to give as many local kids the oppotunity to feel the rush of playing for an audience, moving people with their music and learning to perform.

'First Fridays' - community coming together through music

John Campanella's brain child 'First Fridays' in Town Square is fast becoming the event to attend on the first friday of each month for families, friends, and couples.
John, with the help of Randy and Sue Bresee, owners of Snaps, has hosted a live music performance for the past three months inside Snaps Coffee House and Wine Bar playing rock and roll from the '80's and 90's...much to the joy of the 40 something crowd in town.
While John's passion is in the music, his heart is in promoting talented youth of the community. He uses this venue to highlight the variety of musical talent within the young community of Copperopolis. At each intermission youth that have spent time with John rehearsing, learning the equipment and showing commitment sing, play and entertain.

John Campanella rocks Town Square

A bitter cold evening did not hinder the rock-n-roll spirit of guitarist John Campanella at the concert event "First Friday in Town Square" held on Friday November 4, 2011. Campanella merely changed his venue from the outside gazebo to Snaps Coffee House and Wine Bar where people sat cozily sipping wine listening to Campanella's musical talent....sweeping them back to the music of the '70's and '80's.

Engaging the crowd with his enthusiasm and his skill was an easy feat for Campanella who has been playing guitar since he was 13 and developing his own sound equipment by the age of 17.

Remembering the passion of his youth, Campanella embraces local youth musicians and mentors them. This 'First Friday' concert event highlighted two such talents that Campanella along with Josh Pfeiffer have mentored, 13 year old Jordan Strauch and 15 year-old Michael Impink.
