AFTERNOONS AND EVENINGS...

* IMPACTS: ELEVATED HEAT CONCERNS ESPECIALLY FOR SENSITIVE GROUPS.
           POTENTIAL FOR LARGER FIRE GROWTH AND RAPID FIRE SPREAD.

* CONFIDENCE: HIGH FOR ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES, LOW AFTERNOON RH
  AND AREAS OF POOR RH RECOVERY. MODERATE FOR WIND SPEEDS AND
  THUNDERSTORMS.

* TIMING AND STRENGTH: LOWERING RELATIVE HUMIDITY THROUGH THE WEEK
  WITH THE WORST CONDITIONS DURING THE WEEKEND. WARMEST
  TEMPERATURES IN MOST LOCATIONS EXPECTED ON SUNDAY. DRYING,
  NORTHERLY WINDS (5-15 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 30 MPH) EXPECTED THROUGH
  THE WEEKEND WITH THE STRONGEST AND MORE WIDESPREAD NORTHERLY
  BREEZY WINDS ON SUNDAY.

* TEMPERATURES: HIGHS 100 TO 108 IN THE VALLEY AND LOW 70S TO LOW
  90S IN THE MOUNTAINS. MAX TEMPERATURES 15 TO 20 DEGREES ABOVE
  NORMAL TEMPERATURES FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR. OVERNIGHT LOWS IN THE
  60S TO AROUND 70 IN THE VALLEY AND 70S IN THE FOOTHILLS THERMAL
  BELT. NEAR RECORD TEMPERATURES POSSIBLE.

* THUNDERSTORMS: ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE OVER THE SIERRA
  THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING AND AGAIN FRIDAY AND INTO THE
  WEEKEND.
