Copperopolis kicked off the summer of
2014 right with the first concert of the Calaveras Arts Council Music in the
Park series featuring Snap Jackson and the Knock on Wood Players.
The Music in the Park concert was a
fun night for everyone, with an old fashion country band to keep the residents
entertained throughout the evening. A summer vibe was felt throughout the night,
with laughter and the sound of chatter everywhere. Children danced and played,
while many ‘out of towners’ joined in reverie.
Representatives from the Calaveras
Art Council were extremely excited for the upcoming season with each week featuring
a different sound.
When asked what her favorite concert
of all time was, Belva Bristol responded, “I don’t exactly have one, every
concert is different each week. I think my favorite part of the concerts is the
variety it brings. I've hardly missed a concert in over 20 years!” Asking a
couple residents about if they are enjoying their time, they all replied
positive. Bob Carey, a local Copperopolis resident, says that he loves to come
to the local concerts, mainly because it gives him something to do and never
fails to entertain him.
This summer at the Town Square will
be something else. In September Town Square will be hosting a concert each week
bringing in a variety of music venues.
Attending a concert is a great way
to spend times with friends and family. Not only can one enjoy the music, but
can also go into local shops such as Roasters Coffee Corner, Rovedattis, or
Griffs, and enjoy a drink or even a meal! Town Square’s concerts and events are
lining up, make time to catch one, it is nothing but fun!
