Angels Camp PD press release re: Increase in DUI Arrests

The Angels Camp Police Department (ACPD) has seen a dramatic increase in driving under the influence (DUI) arrests in 2013. ACPD arrested twenty five people for DUI between January 1, 2013 – May 10, 2013. Five arrests were made for the same time period in 2012.
Of the twenty five DUI arrests made this year:
·         Three were a result of responsible citizens contacting law enforcement when they witnessed a suspected DUI driver.
·         Eighteen people were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, with an average blood alcohol level of 0.13.
·         Four people were arrested for driving under the influence of drugs.
·         Three people were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
The Angels Camp Police Department is asking for the community’s continued support in keeping our roadways safe. Always remember to:
·         Designate a sober driver. Never drive while impaired.
·         Call 9-1-1 to report a suspected DUI.
