6 September 2013, at approx. 8:08 pm, emergency personnel responded to the area of Hospital Road, in front of the old Tuolumne General Hospital, for a reported solo motorcycle accident with injuries.
During the investigation, it was determined that Kauty Thurman, 55 of Jamestown, was riding her motorcycle eastbound on Hospital Road, when she allowed the front wheel to drift off of the paved roadway and strike a railroad track. The impact with the railroad track caused the motorcycle to overturn and eject Thurman from her motorcycle.
Thurman suffered moderate leg and shoulder injuries as a result of the accident. She was transported by ambulance to Sonora Regional Medical center for treatment.
