Grand Marshal's of the 2013 Copperopolis Homecoming Parade

Don and Maggie moved to Copperopolis in 2005 and it wasn’t long before they found themselves volunteering in the community starting with Copperopolis Parks & Recreation.  Don is a member of the Copperopolis Volunteer Firefighter Association and goes out on many calls, some with his son Levi who is a Cadet with the Copperopolis Fire District’s Explorer’s Program.  Don also is serving his third year as President of the Association.  You will see Don and Levi at many fund raising events such as the Fill the Boot for the Food Pantry on Memorial Day and Labor Day, the Chili Cook-off at Town Square in January, and often at the monthly Bingo at Black Creek Park.  Don was also a member of the Copperopolis Planning Commission.
Maggie volunteers at the Copperopolis Elementary School and facilitates the reading intervention program “Read Naturally.”  She also coordinates “The Homework Club” and helps out at “Kids Club,” both of which are after school programs sponsored by the Copperopolis Baptist Church.  At present, she is serving her second term as a member of the Mark Twain Union Elementary School Board.  She also volunteers as Treasurer for Bret Harte Angels, Inc.
Don and Maggie are active in the Copper Hills 4H Club as Alpaca group leaders together with their son, Levi, and daughter, Pearl, who both help and participate.  Each year, the alpaca competition is held on the second Saturday in May at the County Fair.
The Rollings family appreciates living in our Copperopolis community where so much heart and helping hands make a difference and life that much richer.

Sandy and Cliff moved to Copperopolis in 1992 and soon became active volunteers in the Community. In 1993 Sandy was elected to The Copperopolis Community Centers Board of Director’s. In 1997 she became President of the Board and has served as Board President for the last 16 years. They were very active in the restoration of the Old Historical Church, which lay dormant and deteriorating for many years. The Church has once again become a place of worship.  They were also involved in the many major restoration projects at The Old Historical Armory. This building is used for many community and county functions.  Sandy and the members of her Board devote many hours of their time and efforts to the maintenance and restoration of these two old publicly owned Historical Buildings.
In the 21 years they have lived in Copperopolis, both Sandy and Cliff have volunteered their services to other community Organizations such as Friends of the Library and in the early years the Lions Club.
