Creatures in the Garden

Every season brings creatures into your garden but summertime visitors are special.  It can be a visiting rabbit, a snail, birds in a bath, dragon flies hovering over head or a friendly “reptilla” or two.

Gallery Calaveras artists have searched their gardens, cleared away fallen leaves, hoed flower and vegetable rows, a put out the bird seed in order to show their little creatures.  Whether the creatures from the garden are painted in oil, watercolors, pastels, portrayed on film or even molded from fine clay, Gallery Artists treat you to a garden experience.   Creatures in the Garden runs from June 8 through July 30, 2013.  Calaveras Arts Council’s, Gallery Calaveras is located at 22 N. Main Street in San Andreas.


Local artists contributing to this gallery show are Cate Culver, Libby Fife, Ruth Morrow, Lori Kelly, Sumiko Mancinelli,  Pete Kelly, Ken Winebrenner, Judy Morgan, Margaret Roberts, Ty Childress, Lynn M Lynn, Pat Miltimore, Susie Hoffman, Donna McCormick, Kate Frederick, Helen Scofield, just to name a few.

Gallery Calaveras is also pleased to announce that each month a local artist will be featured in the gallery.  This June, multi-talented Susie Hoffman shares her oil, watercolor, pastel, color photographs creations with you.  Whether it is a rose, quail, baby chick or a wandering country road, Susie’s talent will amaze you.  All items are for sale.

To celebrate the first show of summer, each day is considered a gallery show reception.  Come in for a cookie or cold lemonade daily from 9:00a to 4:00p.

The not-for-profit Calaveras Arts Council operates Gallery Calaveras at 22 Main Street in San Andreas.  Hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.  The gallery offers free parking both in front and in back and is handicapped accessible.
