Copperopolis veterans, Bill Skellenger (Korea), Al Gilbert (Vietnam) and Mel Ogg (WWII) participated in a Memorial Day convoy titled Operation : Flags of our Fathers that wound throughout the valley on Memorial Day, visiting cemetaries and American legion Posts along a 75 mile route, to pay tribute to those who served.
Bill Skellenger drove his 1945 fully restored WWII Willys Jeep in the convoy. The veterans were joined by Carmen and Roberto Barajas in their fully restored WWII vehicle.
