Due to June 18, 2011 being Fathers Day, the next meeting of the Committee to form a VFW in Copperopolis has been moved to June 26, 2011. The time is the same (2:00pm) at the 8A Community Center on Feather Drive.
If you have any friends, neighbors, or relatives that may be interested in joining, please let them know about our group and the date and time of the meeting. Please make every effort to attend our meetings, each and every one of you are important and necessary to the success in our efforts to form a new VFW in the Copperopolis area.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Charity Maness and Jerry Kniffen for taking time to sit with me in the beautiful Sunshine on Friday from 10:00 to 2:00. We assisted the Veterans Administrations Mobile Health Vans first visit to Copperopolis, which I think was a success. It wasn't real busy, but it was steady. I'm sure they could have handled a few more Vets, and we're hoping that they will add Copperopolis to their regular schedule.
