Stop Settling for Less and Upgrade Your Life!

Welcome to the next ‘New thought of the Week and Upgrade Your Life’ Series.  This 12 week series will give you valuable ‘New Thought’ Information and Advice that will help you learn how to enjoy the Holidays that are fast approaching.  We hope our advice will open you up to a new way of celebrating them.

Ah yes, the Holidays, they’re supposed to be the most wonderful time of the year, and as you know they can have a way of turning into a very stressful time.  The holiday season can often bring unwelcome guests, an overwhelming array of demands, parties, shopping, baking, cleaning, socializing and entertaining to name just a few. Or perhaps you may be spending the Holidays alone and are feeling a little lonely or depressed.  But whatever the source of your angst, family dynamics, financing, lack of self-confidence, or painful memories, etc…you are certainly not alone and there ARE solutions.

What Strong People Don’t Do!

When getting through some seriously tough times, we often struggle with hanging in and staying strong.  Since emotional healing is something all of us struggle with at times, I thought I’d write each week about some things emotionally strong people don’t do to give you new insights and perhaps creating a better life.  Enjoy!

They don’t think everyone is out to get them:

Emotionally strong people choose to see the good in others.  Because the truth is, the world is actually full of good people.  Whoever says otherwise hasn’t looked around or in the right places.  So look around.  Appreciate them, connect and smile.  When you chose to see the good in others, and connect, you end up discovering the good in you!

When getting through some seriously tough times, we often struggle with hanging in and staying strong.  Since emotional healing is something all of us struggle with at times, I thought I’d write each week about some things emotionally strong people don’t do to give you new insights and perhaps creating a better life.  Enjoy!

They don’t waste time and energy on things they can’t control:

You won’t hear an emotionally strong person complaining over traffic jams and rainy days.  Instead, they focus on what they can control in their lives.  And above all, complaining over traffic jams and rainy days.  Instead, they focus on what they can control in their lives.  And above all they recognize that sometimes the only things they can control are their thoughts and attitude.

They don’t make the same exact mistakes over and over again.

You can’t make the same mistake twice.  Because the second time you make it, it’s no longer a mistake, it’s a choice.  Emotionally strong people accept responsibility for their behavior and learn from their past mistakes.  As a result, they don’t keep repeating the same mistakes over and over.  Instead, they grow and move on to better decisions and new lessons.

Don’t let the temptations of today distract you from what you deserve.  So, to stay emotionally strong--do what you have to do now so you can do what you want to do later.

They don’t let negativity and drama get the best of them:

Your brain is like a radio transmitter, it broadcasts thoughts, directions and vibrations into our life; you get to choose the station it is tuned to.  Emotionally strong people understand this and tune out negativity to make room for positivity.  Be wise enough to follow in their footsteps.  Walk away from the crazy nonsense all around you.  Focus on the positives, and count your blessings, and soon the negatives will be harder for you to notice.

Winning Ways Advice Column - ' 3 Questions that can turn your life around' by, Marge Powers

3 Questions that Can Turn Your Life Around
Dear Magic:  I was wondering if you could give me some advice.  It confuses me many times trying to figure out what is wrong, or what is right for me, and where I fit.  There are so many points of view.  How can a person tell what’s right for them?  Janice Jablonski
Dear Janice:  Yeah, I know what you mean, it took me a long time to figure out what was right or wrong for me, the world is such a crazy, overwhelming place, how are we supposed to know what’s true for us? So I acknowledge your concern.  Eventually after much soul seeking, I finally learned after many ups and downs that it’s not the answers you get from others, but the questions you ask yourself that help you grow stronger and know and trust what is really true for you.  From the list of questions below, you’ll be able to notice what I discovered:  There are no right or wrong answers..just yours!.  I hope you find this information helpful.
Good discoveries to you Jan.  Magic Powers

1.      If today were the last day of your life, would you want to do what you are about to do today?
I discovered that you have to live your own life in your own way.  That’s all there is to it.  Each of us has a unique fire in our soul for something that makes us feel alive…our passion, knowing what makes us Tick.  It’s your duty to find and keep it lit.  It works if you can stop caring too much about what everyone else wants for you, and start actually living for yourself.
·         Don’t hide behind other people’s or your culture’s rules and belief systems.
·         Don’t let others tell you what you want, do what work for you.
·         Don’t help others so much that you forget to help yourself first.
·         Design and experience YOUR own precious life.

The life you create from doing something that moves you is far better than the life you get from sitting around wishing you were doing it, even if it’s only ten minutes here and there.  Commit and trust yourself, you’re all you have!
