Summerfest fun at Town Square

Town Square held their annual Summerfest on August 11, 2013 with water slides, face painting, live music and more. A fun day for ALL ages!

Western Days a rootin' tootin' good time

Western Days in Copperopolis Town Square held the unexpected for Copperopolis residents as they were transported back in time to an era long ago filled with cowboys, gamblin’ halls, cantinas and plenty of horsin’ around fun for the kids.

The Sierra Six Guns and Side Kicks of Auburn set up a small mock western town complete with gunslingers and gamblers. The group put on skits throughout the day beginning with a gun safety skit and ending with a shoot out at the makeshift bar/gambling establishment over a questionable gambling debt – all with blanks. 

 

Many vendors offered their wares from saddles and horse blankets to wood carvings and beef jerky.

Roping demonstrations were held at the Copper Star Pack and Trail Company as well as a petting zoo complete with miniature horses and hungry goats for children to pet and feed.

The California Outlaws entertained the crowd with their own flavor of country and western music as well as a little rock thrown in for good measure.

Hardluck Lin, a master storyteller, wove tales of the Gold Rush during her hayday in the Mother Lode lending insight into the world of the west when she was indeed wild.

Western Days was a collaborative effort from the merchant event steering committee of Copperopolis Town Square.

Western Days is a new event and we're expecting a stampede! Join us for some rootin' tootin' gunslinger action, or take a turn in the Horseshoe Tournament and go for the money! If you like it fast, head on down to the Copper Star arena and watch or sign-up for the barrel racing competition. Those prize buckles sure are purdy!. 

The kids will have a blast competing in various stick horse events or playing with the critters in the petting zoo. If you like, you can grab an ice cold beer and listen to tales from Hardluck Lin, "keeper of the history of the Mother Lode gold rush," then kickback and enjoy the tunes from the California Outlaws.

Art & Jazz Fest photos

The Art & Jazz Fest held on June 22, 2013 at Town Square was packed with artists of every medium. From painters to jewelers, photographers to horticulturists. If you love art, there was something for you.

The event also hosted a 'food art' competition which drew a small but eclectic set of entrants.

Town Square hosting Art and Jazz on the Square - press release

(COPPEROPOLIS, Calif.) – Copperopolis Town Square – the events, shopping and entertainment gathering place in Calaveras County – will host the third-annual “Art, Jazz & Wine on the Square” event on Saturday, June 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

For the first time, wine will be made available to attendees as they peruse the work of local artists. Beautiful hand-crafted paintings, jewelry, woodwork and more will be available at the show. A raffle for select pieces of artwork, wine and other items is scheduled as well.
