Nine Amador, Calaveras, and Tuolumne County Artists Chosen
to Show in KVIE Art Auction
KVIE to Broadcast Award-Winning Art 9/20-9/22

CA, August 20, 2013 – Celebrating
KVIE Public Television’s thirty-two years of creating an accessible venue to
bring art into the homes of Northern Californians, the 2013 KVIE Art Auction
will showcase over 250 works of art by emerging, well-known, and world-renown
Northern California artists. KVIE’s art curator, D Neath, today announced that nine
artists from Amador, Calaveras, and Tuolumne counties who submitted their art
to the annual juried competition were chosen to be included in KVIE’s Art
Auction collection. Six of the selected artists from this region also received
juror awards in their artistic categories.
The nine pieces accepted into the
auction are: Laurie Gregory Williams’ “High Desert Princess” (juror award
winner, sculpture category; Sutter Creek; airs 9/22 approx. 4pm); John R.
Jurisich’s “Market Square” (juror award winner, contemporary classics category;
Pine Grove; airs 9/20 approx. 9pm); Michiyo Watanabe’s “Hummingbird” (juror
award winner, photography category; Jackson; airs 9/22 approx. 12pm); Ann Nancy
Macomber’s “Santa Cruz Yucca” (juror award winner, still life category; Arnold;
airs 9/21 approx. 6pm); Susie Hoffman’s “Copper Valley Patina” (Copperopolis;
airs 9/21 approx. 8pm); Donald Hukari’s “Sacramento Blocks” (juror award
winner, photography; Sonora; airs 9/21 approx. 6pm); Cary Bauer McGrew’s
“Looking Up” (Columbia; airs 9/21 approx. 6pm); Marta Magistrali’s “As Easy As
Riding a Bike” (juror award winner, sculpture category; Jamestown; airs 9/21
approx. 6pm); and Allison Blansit’s “Secluded” (Sonora; airs 9/21 approx. 6pm).
