Calaveras community band Labor Day Concert Murphys Park

            The Calaveras Community Band, that traces its history to California’s gold rush days, will present a special Labor Day concert under the leadership of Director Mic Harper in the Murphys Community Park on Monday, September 1, at 6:30 p.m.

            There will be music for everyone’s taste ranging from swing and jazz to show tunes and marches.  The band has added two new Latin tunes to its repertoire.

There is no admission charge.  Families and other members of the community are invited to pack a picnic dinner and enjoy this holiday concert.  There will not be any food or beverages for sale in the park.

'Hotel Hell' hits Murhys

Over the weekend the famed reality show 'Hotel Hell' with host Gordon Ramsay hit Murphys Hotel and shook it up.

The episode should air this fall. But for us locals we can see the changes for ourselves much sooner than that.

'Hotel Hell' to be filming in at Murphys Historic Hotel

And finally, several months ago, I mentioned that I was working on a reality TV show project. I can now tell you (if you haven't already heard) that Murphys Historic Hotel will be the feature of the show, Hotel Hell, starring Gordon Ramsay, which airs on Fox. The show will be taped June 22nd - 25th and if you'd like to dine or stay at the hotel during the taping (you will need to pay regular rates), you are invited to apply by emailing: hotelshowmurphys@gmail.com.
