Lake Tulloch Resort in limbo

According to Supervisor Ponte, after checking with Planning, Building, Public Works and Environmental Services and there is not a plan presented and/or permit requested in regards to the Poker Flat Resort for review or consideration at this time.

Lake Tulloch Resort area heavy equipment in use

According to the Calaveras Public Works they have no knowledge of the current work being done with heavy equipment in the vicinity of the Lake Tulloch Resort and no permit is required for private property work.

Supervisor Ponte is in receipt of our email asking if there is any new activity ;plans, permits, etc at the County level for the Resort and has responded that she will get back to us as soon as she has the information.

We have other emails pending response. We will try to advise the community as soon as verified information is received.

Phone calls into CCWD and on site sewage...awaiting response...

Update:
Ponte did check with multiple County agencies and has not located any permits or plans for the Lake Tulloch Resort.

CCWD Bill Perley stated that a sewer line and water line to skirt the lake is in the process of being installed as no more sewer lines are to run through the lake, with CCWD inspections throughout the construction.

According to Public Works an encroachment permit has been applied for but there remains conditions to be met.

Lake Tulloch Resort....an outpatient treatment center?

Though the sign at the Lake Tulloch Resort states closed for the season, according to a company search the Lakes Treatment Center, owned by Bernadette Cattaneo, founded in 2010, operates at 2670 O'Byrnes Ferry Road.

Peaceful Weekend for Sheriff Dept in Copper

According to the daily logs posted on the Calaveras County Website, the activity in Copperopolis was near to non-existent over the weekend with a few officer initiated activities including a traffic stop and a suspicious person.
The event at Lake Tulloch Resort was peaceful.

Update 9-13-12
According to the Calaveras Sheriff Dept PIO two patrol boats were on Lake Tulloch both Saturday and Sunday 9-8 and 9-9 the "weekend was very quiet."

CFPD Board to Consider Contract with Lake Tulloch Resort for Emergency Services during BUMP

One item on the CFPD Agenda for August 16, 2012 is a proposed draft contract with Lake Tulloch Resort to provide emergency medical personnel on scene during the BUMP VI event slated for August 18, 2012.

The contract, if approved by the CFPD Board, would place five personnel on scene thus "relieving the pressure from our regular responders." Said Chief Kovacs earlier in the week in an email interview.

This will be the second contract, if approved, that Lake Tulloch Resort has entered into with regards to funding public safety personnel for their BUMP events. Previously the Sheriff Department entered into a three year contract with the Lake Tulloch Resort providing Law Enforcement personnel at their events.

4th Annual Biker Bash Hits Copper

The Lake Tulloch Resort will be hosting the 4th annual Frog Jump Biker Bash this weekend at the resort. The Biker Bash is presented by B.I.C. Productions and Uniq Cycle Sounds. Advertising on motorcycle sites announce "Huge biker party on the lake with bikini contest, Top Hatters’ poker run, special guests, bike contest, 50/50, vendors, and the Charlie Brechtel Band. ... Gates open Fri. at noon. Lake Tulloch Resort, 7260 O'Byrnes Ferry Rd. Copperopolis California."

In November of 2011, under new management, the Giambi family, owners of the resort, were excited to present the Copperopolis community with a community oriented and family friendly resort. According to Bernadette Cattaneo, resort operator,  the resort has maintained the "family oriented atmosphere but from time to time we have to broaden our horizons in order to pay the bills."

LakeTulloch Resort continues its 'facelift'

Fully vested in becoming a community resort the Lake Tulloch Resort continues its 'facelift.'

According to Danna Goately, event coordinator and go-to-girl at Lake Tulloch Resort the crew is in the process of "painting rooms on the open balcony side" cleaning carpets, blinds, comforters, lamps,etc. all in preparation for an upcoming possible open house for the community to see the positive changes.

 Just 6 short months ago a new team took over the management of Lake Tulloch Resort with the hopes a making the resort "a place where people can come by on a regular basis…enjoy a nice meal with friends and family…relax and enjoy the beauty of the lake front and the newly tended grounds.” Hoping to shed the party place image, the plan is to return the resort to the family fun place to be.

For those of you that love the feast, but don’t particularly enjoy the preparation or clean-up, the Lake Tulloch Resort might just be where you want to be this Thanksgiving.

The resort will be offering a sit-down five- course Thanksgiving Feast on Thanksgiving Day for only $15.95 per person, children under 12 pay their age. The menu includes Sage roast Turkey, Spiral baked ham, old fashioned mashed potatoes, apple walnut stuffing and all the traditional fixings, including sweet potatoes, cold pumpkin soup, cranberry sauce and more.  Berry Marscapone dessert and traditional pumpkin pie to finish the meal perfectly.

Lake Tulloch Resort undergoing a community oriented re-design

When Lake Tulloch Resorts chef and new manager, Steve Almadova, presented to the Giambi family, owners of the resort, a community oriented picture for the future of the resort, the owners gave him a thumbs up and requested that he start immediately.

While the undertaking was just short of a complete business facelift and remodel, Steve and his support staff, Danna Goatley and Michael were ready for the challenge. “We’ve been listening to the community (and ) I think we can turn this into a positive gathering place. There is a lot of potential at this resort…my goal is to become star rated” said Steve.

Lake Tulloch Resort Hosts Car Show 10-22-11

When the Resort wants to throw a shindig they proved they can do it in record time.
Wanting to have a car show and tri-tip bbq, the crew at Lake Tulloch Resort put their heads together and in just under four days they pulled a rabbit out of their hats and hosted a wonderful, free to the public and entrants alike, eclectic car show with entrants from as far as Murphys and as close as Copper and some from Tuolomne County too.
Some of the entrants included:
Sierra Car Club, Sierra Angels and Central Valley Corvette Club. Jack Wilson, Rick Lehfeldt, Robert and Carmen, Al Gilbert, Terry Costa, Warren Iserloth, Jim McCutcheon, Bill, Ed and Larry.
