Kindness Hero Essay by Samantha Sinclair
I believe that my dear friend Sid Warner is a wonderful kindness hero. He was born in Canada in 1927, and is 86 years old now. He was raised to be smart and tough. He would always entertain himself by helping, because he did not have many toys. He was always helping in hard times, and still kept decent grades. He was becoming a strong young man. Even though he was young, he would still help and care for people.
At a young age he joined the Air Force in Canada. His job was on a fighter jet as a tail gunner. The tail gunner is someone who is in the end of the jet shooting at other planes and things while in war. After serving in the Air Force for a LONG time he retired. He then met his wife Marge. They together moved to Castro Valley, Ca. After a few years they had three kids. They're names were David, Steve and Lynne. Later Marge was diagnosed with cancer. Sadly Marge died only when the kids were about 10 years old. He still raised AMAZING kids and now they are great adults. He was always taking care of his obligations and dedicates his time to help.
Not too long ago he met my grandma. Ten about 10 years later I came along. Hes always helping me when I need help or someone else. Now, still at age 86 is still a workaholic. He had heart surgery to help him out. He is a little sad because he cannot do the things he used to be able to do, but he is still doing awesome.
Sid Warner as a kindness hero each year, because he is an amazing man and will never stop giving help.

Kindness Hero Essay by 4th grader Brandon Reder
There are many people who help others and are hero's but the one person who is my biggest hero is my friends mom, Tira who is a nurse. I have known her for about three years. She is helpful, kind and careful when shes washing a patients leg so it won;t hurt or when shes using a liquid on a cut.
She has helped a lot of people, even me. I cut my hand open with a sharp plant and she put butterfly stitches on it and put a white bandage on it and after three days it healed. She helped her son when he crashed his bike and really hurt his elbow.
Tira helps other people by working in the hospital. She would help if they had any cuts, a bite form something poisonous like a rattlesnake, scorpion, or other poisonous snake. She has at one time or another helped most of the people in my street. For instance my friend Caleb who was riding his skateboard and he flipped it and got a huge cut on his leg. Tira came to the rescue and bandaged him up. Tira also helped my brother when he crashed into a tree on his bike. I went to go get her and she cleaned up the cuts in his leg.
Tira is a nurse who is helpful to everyone. She helps anyone that is hurt like my brother, Caleb, her son, and me. Tira helps people in the hospital to get better. She is kind to people and she is careful when she helps. Tira is also never in a bad mood shes always a happy person. This is why I have chosen Tira as my kindness hero.

Kindness Hero essay by 3rd grader Jadzia Balcer
My kindness hero is my brother because he helps me prepare to be great in the next grade.
He gets me prepared for everything and he is also a very good role model.
The reason I picked my brother as my kindness hero because he cares for me a lot.
He tells me to do the right thing, when I'm about to make a mistake.
I love my very caring brother so much.
When Dakota sees that I am sad about our real parents, he tells our foster parents, Nick and Bridget, so they can help me feel better.
I am so glad to pick my brother as my kindness hero.

My mom is my kindness hero because she has been battling cancer and even though she is sick she donates her time to charity and helps raise money for people in need.
She helps donating clothes, blankets, jackets and food.
She still finds time to do the dishes and feed us.
She has a huge heart and loves everyone, no matter how she feels, she will be the first one to help people out.
I really love her because she feeds me, buys me candy and toys.
My mom loves me and shes my hero.

Kindness Hero essay by 1st grader Patsy High
Hi, my name is Patsy High.
My kindness hero report is on my uncle Cecil.
The reason why I picked my uncle Cecil is because he takes outstanding care of me and my brothers and sisters, until my dad and mom gets a house.
My uncle is very courteous for taking us in.
My uncle Cecil is great to me and my siblings. I love him.
When I was in Stockton I didn't have much food, now that I am with my uncle Cecil I have lots of food!
Plus I have a house!
I really like it here with my uncle Cecil. Because he takes good care of me and I have games.
Now I have warm clothes and I appreciate it here.
That's why I adore my uncle Cecil and that's why I picked my uncle Cecil as my kindness hero.

Kindness Hero Essay readings - tears and smiles were flowing
At the Copperopolis Elementary Kindness Hero Essay readings on March 26, 2013, three kindness heroes in our community were celebrated by the author of an essay.
I must apologize for the unclear photos as my eyes were tearing up and focusing was an issue, I certainly hope you catch the clear love and adoration of the young writers as they gaze upon their kindness heroes or smile with sheer joy.
My KINDNESS HERO is my sister, Bianca.
Whenever I feel sad or hurt my sister, Bianca, is always
there for me. She tells me that I am smart and and a
loving girl even when others don’t always see that.
Bianca is there for my Mommy, too. When my
Mommy cries, my sister Bianca tells her to be strong and
they she will try to help. Sometimes, she takes her out
in the car for a ride.
We like to go shopping together. I go with her
to church. She teaches me to pray and be thankful to
God for what we have. She is the best example to me.
She is very special to me. Bianca is my
KINDNESS HERO because she makes a big difference in
my life.

Kindness Essay winner Charis Hulbert
9 year-old Charis Hulbert is a student in Mrs. Bauers 4th grade class. Charis likes writing and reading not limiting herself to any particular genre saying that she "likes all kinds of books" but her favorite right now is the Magic Treehouse series.
Charis knew she would write about her Grandma once she understood the theory behind the assignment, but putting her feelings into words was difficult. "It was easy to know what I felt but hard to write."
Living with her Grandmother since pre-school Charis said that she has only seen her mother once, "no calls, thats it, just once for a month."
Nervous about reading her essay to a large crowd Charis has been practicing.

Kindness Hero Essay Winner Kaily Hulbert
Kaily Hulbert is a bubbly 7 year old first grader who proudly announced as soon as she sat down for the interview that she was reading at a third grade level. When asked her favorite subject, which seemed mute at this point it was a bit of a surprise that she said her favorite subject was homework with Math running a close second. Her favorite part of school is that "I get to learn."
When she was told about the kindness hero essay she immediately thought of her Grandma "cause she took me and my sister out of really bad places." This cherubic little girl continued by saying that when her mother had dropped her and her sister off at ther Grandma's house "I didn't know we wouldn't see her for a really long time."
