ABC Responds to Gazette Questions

Noting an arrest from the California Alcohol Beverage Control on the Sheriff Log for the Lake Tulloch BUMP party on August 18, 2012 the Copper Gazette contacted the ABC regarding the arrests and their presence at BUMP VI. The following is a portion of the letter received from the Stockton Office District Administrator.

"ABC received several reports from the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office detailing disorderly activity that occurred on or about Lake Tulloch Resort during the last “Bump” party held in June.  As a result, ABC filed an accusation against the license resulting in a decision being issued on August 17, 2012.  The decision suspended their ABC license for a period of 15 days.  The suspension period was stayed for a period of one year.  This means that they would not initially have to serve the 15 day suspension.  They would be responsible for the penalty only if they had like violations occur again during the next year."

BUMP VI today 8-18-12

Hold on to your hats Copperoplis, BUMP VI will be hitting Copperopolis by noon today, 8-18-12.
A reminder that a CHP DUI checkpoint will be in Copperopolis today, with a minimum of five CHP personnel assigned to Copperopolis for the BUMP event.

Copper Fire Board approves BUMP medical personnel contract

At the 8-16-12 Copperopolis Fire Protection District Board meeting a contract supplying medical personnel for the BUMP VI party at Lake Tulloch Resort was approved.

The contract provides stand-by medical personnel consisting of 5 basic medical personnel with one of the five personnel an Officer in charge of personnel at the event. The contract covers the expense of the medical personnel.

While the original contract was set to include more than one event, the contract was approved by the Board with the stipulation that it cover only the current BUMP VI event.

Local Public Safety Prepares fro BUMP VI

With the June 23, 2012 BUMP V occurring just over a month ago, and garnering large amounts of public safety calls and dispatches, local public safety agencies are preparing themselves for the upcoming BUMP VI to be held August 18, 2012 at the Lake Tulloch Resort.

 According to the Tuolumne County CHP PIO their office had four CHP units designated for the event of June 23rd paid for by a State DUI grant and anticipate designated units for BUMP VI. Becky Myers of the Calaveras County CHP stated that they had three CHP units designated for the June 23rd event with a portion of the funding for the overtime positions funded by a State DUI Grant. Myers stated that currently there are two positions designated for the upcoming BUMP VI, "but that could change."

County Counsel weighs in on BUMP

While emails continue to flood the Copper Gazette regarding the upcoming BUMP VI at the Lake Tulloch Resort the question posed to County Counsel was this:
Will the County be requiring a conditional use permit for the upcoming August 18, 2012 BUMP VI party at Lake Tulloch?
Janis Elliot, Calaveras County Counsel responded:
"It is my understanding that the Resort has been advised of the relevant Title 17 sections but has taken no action to comply.  The Board has authorized County Counsel to review the facts and this office will then make a decision on the appropriate enforcement actions, which may or may not occur prior to August 18, 2012."

BUMP VI headed to Copper 8-18-12

On June 23, 2012 Lake Tulloch Resort held BUMP V with an attendance of over 2000 people. Random Nights and Showcase Entertainment has just announced they will be promoting BUMP VI and August 18 at 12:00pm until August 19 at 2:00am. The event is advertised as an "all ages party" however, the sponsor ad also states "that due to local curfew laws, the event will be 18+ after 10pm."
