Final Results of the season.  Bret Harte girls competed as well as expected.  Kaylee was a bit off.  Got boxed in early and had to fight her way out of the pack.  By then the girls she was focused on were a ways ahead.  Hannah C and KD A both ran well.  Hayley R picked it up to make top 5.  Madi W beat out the Exeter 6th place girl to give us the tie-breaker victory over them.  Jessie was still under the weather.

Bret Harte Cross Country Sac-Joaquin Finals 11-11-11

It was a good day for Bret Harte XC!  The girls are back on top with a section victory.  That's our 5th in the last 6 years. Kaylee had a great race, almost winning it, but coming up 2nd.
The varsity boys ran a tough race against some pretty stiff competition, but came up short on their bid for a 5th straight stae meet appearance.  They placed 4th, missing that 3rd spot by only 9 points.  It was good to have soph Tristan Boblet back, coming off an appendix surgery just a month ago!
A couple easy victories in the Frosh Boys and Fr-So Girls, along with a very close 2nd (1 pt.!) in the soph boys assures BH with a good talent pool for the future.

One long hill
Once again Bret Harte dominated the races.  The varsity boys looked especially strong with Joe, Kevin, Kyle, & Eli leading the pack.  The girls race was quite competitive for the individual title with 4 of the top runners in the section vying for the crown.   Summerville's Kristen Turner pulled away from Bret Harte's Kaylee Sedler at the half way mark and pulled away for a convincing win, her third MLL crown in a row.

Bret Harte's young teams did quite well, especially the soph girls which set the 2nd best all time combined time for sophomore girls, division 4, on that course.
Kaylee Sedler ran a strong race despite being out for a week with a knee injury.
The Varsity teams were short a couple of key runnners which definitely affected our scores.
Next week is MLL Finals at Summerville HS; Wed at 2:00.
