Top Sport bicycle race coming to town 4-6-14 - Little John Rd closure

Once again, Top Sport cycling will be bringing a bicycle race to Copperopolis on April 6, 2014.
Little John extension will be closed most of the day for this event.

Copper Town Circuit Race and Rock Creek TT. Races will be held simultaneously.

Copper Town Circuit Race Course is a closed 5.5 mile loop that will start in Copper Town Square and head out on to Little John Road west to the far west/south end of the divided section of Little John Road then return back to Copper Town Square and do a circuit through town.

Race will be based on time/laps not miles. This course is a combination crit/circuit race course with excellent pavement and some small coble sections in town.

Rock Creek TT course is a 10 mile out and back loop on rolling terrain

. Roads are open but minimal traffic. Please allow vehicles to pass. 30  Second Gap between riders.

500 bicyclists descend on Copper over the weekend

Topsport Cycling, an event planning company and racing team located in Sonora, hosted the Copper Town Circuit Race held in Town Square on February 16, 2014.

This race, a 5.5 mile closed circuit race down Little John extension and back with a loop through Town Square, brought in over 500 bicyclists from as far away as San Luis Obispo.

Sheriff's community patrol and the Sheriff's explorer scouts helped out at the event as well as Deputy Eric Lisk.

Some proceeds of the race benefited the Copperopolis Parks and Rec.

The next Topsport race for Copperopolis is scheduled for April 6, 2014 which will include a run down Rock Creek Road as well as Little John Road.

Little John to be closed for Bike Race

Little John extension will be closed February 16, from 7 am to approximately 5 pm for a top sport cycling race.

Traffic will be diverted through Main Street off Highway 4 and down Copper Cove Drive off of Little John. 

Registration for the closed 6 mile loop race will open at 7:30 am on 2-16-14 in Town Square.

Top Cyclists Visit Copperopolis for Town Square Circuit Race

(2/19/12) More than 400 cyclists came to Copperopolis on Sunday February 19^th to compete in the 3^rd Annual Copper Town Circuit Race. Top finisher among the men was Charles Hutcheson from Sacramento, and the fastest female finisher was Rikke Preisler from Los Gatos.

Little John Extension will be closed today, 2-19-12, for a bicycle race. The anticipated time of reopening is 3:30.
