New Owners of Snaps Show Copper a good time

At the Snaps 8-17-12 wine tasting featuring Chatom Vineyards, new owners Keri and Steve Apodaca showed Copper they know how to not only carry on the tradition of a great wine tasting event, but added their own flair creating a fun and light hearted cocktail party atmosphere.

Guitarist Danny Burton was accompanied by fellow Copper Holdings Company band members Norm Walton on guitar and Eddy Pendergrass on drums. One creative drum solo included the surrounding tables and walls...putting a little Broadway Stomp into the routine.

Snaps wine tasting featuring Frogs Tooth

On June 8, 2012 from 5-8 pm Snaps Coffee House and Wine Bar will be hosting their Friday night Flights featuring Frogs Tooth Vineyards.

Frogs Tooth Vineyards are located right here in Copperopolis nestled in the rolling foothills of Salt Spring valley. With the purchase of acreage in 1999 to the crushing of their first grapes for their vintage 2005 wine to the opening of their first wine tasting room in Murphys in 2007, Frogs Tooth has made leaps and bounds in the wine-making community. Proud recipients of multiple 'double gold' medals along with a plethora of silver and bronze Frogs Tooth has proven that their little winery has what it takes.

Hovey wine tasting at Snaps - winederful!

On May 25, 2012 Snaps Coffee House and Wine Bar featured Hovey Winery at their Friday night flights. Chuck Hovey came to pour a nice selection of wines including a 2011 Viognier (brand new, just released), a 2010 Chardonnay, his wonderful 2009 Barbera, his 2009 Petite Sirah and the next generation of his award-winning Tempranillo vintage 2010.  Hovey's 2009 Barbera was recently awarded “best Red Wine” by the Vineyard and Winery Management 2012 U.S. National Wine Competition, held April 11 and 12 in Sonoma County, taking home a double gold from the event.

This Friday, May 25, Chuck Hovey will pour some of his favorite Hovey Wines and chat with us about his NEW TASTING ROOM in Murphy's. 

Chuck will begin pouring at 5:00pm and continue until 8:00pm. 

Flights of five tastings will be $8.00 and a glass of your favorite can be had for $8.00.

Hatcher Wines at Snaps - a tasty treat

What more can one ask for on a warm spring evening than good wine, good food, good music and good friends?

All of that and more was had at Snaps Coffee House and Wine Bar Friday night flight wine tasting 5-11-12 featuring the distinctive wines of Hatcher Winery. Danny Burton and John Sexton provided the perfect musical background to the setting. Appetizers were plentiful and delicious as were the variety of wines.

Newsome Harlow pours a wonderful evening at Snaps

Snaps Coffee House and Wine Bar once again  hosted a delicious evening of wine tasting featuring local winery Newsome Harlow. Accompanying the great wines were appetizers to temp any palate and music to fill the heart played by Danny Burton on guitar and John Sexton on the flute - phenomenal duo.

The selection of artisan wines that were poured by Newsome Harlow owner Scott Klann were:

Frog's Tooth Vineyards brings home some Silver

Copperopolis' own Frog's Tooth Vineyards brought home 3 Silver Medals from the 2012 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.

 

Judging at this event was intense as 65 judges within the professional industry from a variety of wine backgrounds including wine editors, executive chefs, retail wine buyers, professors, hospitality executives, scientists and of course wine makers judged the 5,500 wine entries from 1300 wineries throughout 25 states in the US.

After all the judging was complete our own Frog's Tooth brought home a silver for their:

Hovey Winemaker tasting - Bellisimo!

Snaps Coffee House and Wine Bar hosted Chuck Hovey - winemaker- and his distinct brand of Italian infuenced Gianelli wines  on Friday 2-17-12. According to Randy Bresee, the "wine was great, Chuck was perfect and the music was fantastic!"

Snaps features winemaker Chuck Hovey for wine tasting tonight 2-17-12

Gianelli Vineyards and their winemaker Chuck Hovey will be at Snap's on Friday, February 17.  Vintages with romantic names  like Vermentino, Fiano, Aglianico, Montepulciano and Nino will be offered for tastings.  This will be the first time we have had the opportunity to taste the Italian varietals offered by this winery. It is a beautiful extension of Valentine's Day.  

The event will be from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and Danny Burton will be there playing his acoustic guitar and there will be complimentary hors d'oeuvres.  A flight of five tastings will be offered at $8.00 and a glass of your favorite will be $8.00.  The weather seems to be holding up, so come enjoy the fireside, the music, the wine and the shops of Town Square.

Hovey Winery at Snaps a festive affair

Chuck Hovey, winemaker for Hovey Wines, showed off his award-winning vintages for the first time at Snap's on Friday, December 16, 2011 to a very appreciative crowd.  Danny Burton performed Christmas songs and more, beautifully on his acoustic guitar. 

Chuck was winemaker for Stevenot for many years and has created worldwide award-winning vintages after just two years of having his own label.  What a great way to celebrate the Christmas Season!

Snap's is delighted to introduce Chuck Hovey and Hovey Wines at Snap's Coffee House and Wine Bar on Friday, December 16.  Chuck will be pouring his award-winning wines from 5:00pm  to 8:00pm.  Flights of 5 tastings will be $8.00 and a glass of your favorite will be $8.00.  Danny Burton will be there providing live music  and there will be complimentary hors d'oeuvres.  Chuck was the wine maker at Stevenot for 20 years and introduced his wines two years ago.  He has already won awards in world-wide competition for his Tempranillo.  I'm excited to try his wines.  It's a great way to kick off the Christmas Season.
