Volunteers needed for our Youth!

I would like assistance in asking community members to volunteer to help with the planning to organize a Kids Camp this summer for Copperopolis Youth.  Copperopolis Parks and Recreation will sponsor this event with the support of Copper Cove Home Owners Association.  The Association has allowed us to host this event over the past 7 years at Black Creek Park.

My name is Tim Reed and I have been actively involved as Camp Director, while volunteering with  Copperopolis Parks and Recreation for 9 years.  Due to my work obligations, I need to pass the torch to a new Director.

Parks and Rec flea market a success

The Copper Parks and Rec Street Faire and Flea Market held on May 12, 2012  offered vendors throughout Town Square and filled the lot behind the Copperopolis Olive Oil Company and Cruisers. There was everything from furniture to jewelry, snow cones to wine, and junk to treasure.

Bruce Reid, spokesperson for Copper Parks and Rec, said that the proceeds for the spring 2012 flea market will be used for the community garden. "The garden is really taking off and people are using it. It is in need of new irrigation and watering systems."

If you missed this event watch for the Parks and Rec fall flea market. Members of the community were asked to work the Parks and Rec beer and wine booth...note the smiles on all those volunteers faces.

Copperopolis Street Faire

Car Wash for Kids Camp

The kick-off car wash to raise funds for the 2012 Parks and Rec summer Kids Camp was a splashing success.

Each year Copper Parks and Rec hosts a Kids Camp for the children of Copperopolis. This years theme is 'Tropical Rain Forest.'  The events held will be hiking, archery, scavenger hunts, arts and crafts, games and more.
The camp is held for one week June 11-15, 2012 from 9 am to 12 pm.
Parks and Recs needs to raise approximately $2,000 to host this event. If you would like to help please contact Tim Reed at 209-482-5534.

On October 22, 2011 Copper Parks and Recs chairperson Bruce Reid and volunteer Tim Reed presented a plaque recognizing IGA's community support to Kevin Young of Young's IGA and manager Tammy Andrada.
