Now 19 hopefuls for June 3rd election

Added to the list from last week are incumbent  Gary Kuntz for Sheriff and Thomas Meyer for Superior Court Dept One.

Thomas Meyer, a resident of Copperopolis, has held a Law Degree from UOP since 1972 and is a member of the California Bar Association and the Calaveras County Bar Association. According to the State Bar website, Meyer was disciplined in 2008 with a claim of "professional misconduct, receiving an actual suspension from practicing law" and a "two year probation." Since then his license has been inactive twice.

Mr. Meyer ran unsuccessfully in 2012 for a seat on the Copper Cove Homeowners Association Board and has filed lawsuits against CCLTOA Board, making the news for filing a million dollar lawsuit against the Association in 2012. Most recently CCLTOA was awarded in excess of $18,540 for attorney fees and costs related to a lawsuit that was brought against CCLTOA and later dismissed by Marilynn Meyer, wife and client of Thomas Meyer.

When contacted, Mr. Meyer was unwilling to comment.
