Thanks
to many of you for taking time to call and write your representatives
to oppose the 50 or so gun related bills that are presently making their
way through the Senate Appropriations Committee and Safety Committee. Whether
it’s a 5 cent per bullet tax, a ban on all lead ammo in California,
making ALL semi-auto rifles like grandpas Ruger 10-22 a so called
“Assault Rifle” or requiring bio-metric thumb print readers on all guns,
the list of bills assaulting law-abiding citizens in California is
unprecedented. If they cant outright ban your gun, they will register your gun, ban your magazines or tax your ammo – whatever they have to do. Please take the time to make a phone call or send an email.
1.) Contact the Senate Appropriations Committee members.

Remember, the FIRST rule of gun safety: ALL GUNS ARE LOADED ALL THE TIME.
What does that mean? That
means that every time you touch a gun, and while keeping the gun
pointed in a safe direction you make sure that the magazine is out of
the gun and you visually and physically check the chamber to make sure
there isn’t a round in the chamber. If someone
else checks the gun, tells you its not loaded and hands it to you, the
first thing you are going to do is check the gun to make sure it isn’t
loaded and if you are not in physical contact with your firearm and you
look away for a second, or get distracted, when you touch the gun again,
you check again - maybe even twice.
Be safe out there! Take a new shooter to the range and remember you are an ambassador for all things guns – people are always watching you.
