Calaveras Arts’ Music in the Parks comes to a close with Rupert Duncan Country Band

Fans say the Rupert Duncan County Band is Traditional, Big Country Music from the heart with a cookin’ fiddle. Come listen and agree.

The Rupert Duncan Country Band will perform for the Season Finale of the Calaveras County Arts Council’s Music in the Parks Series at Arnold Cedar Center on Wednesday, August 14,
from 6:30 – 8:00 pm.  Rupert Duncan is a country music singer-songwriter from Northern California. He grew up listening to all kinds of music from country to bluegrass and classic rock. Hank Williams Sr., George Jones, Merle Haggard and Keith Whitley are among his influences. Rupert’s goal is to have a fresh country sound that is original, unique and radio friendly.

The band is comprised of lead guitarist Larry Gromer, who is also featured on lead vocals and harmony and is a founding member of the band. Dave Lazar covers the bass guitar and incidentally used to drive the tour bus for Steppenwolf. Josh Guild plays lead and driving rhythm guitar. Ray Elzy adds that all important moaning steel guitar to the melting pot, while Lisa Bond Torgersen plays the sizzling country fiddle.  Randy Kitchen drives the rhythm on drums and adds a vocal flourish. Put ‘em all together and you have one heck of an up-beat, high energy, heel stompin’ country show, sure to please our down-home foothill audience.

To get to Arnold Cedar Center travel east on Highway 4 for 20 miles. Turn left on Oak Circle to enter Cedar Center. Park is behind El Dorado Savings Bank.  For a downloadable schedule of Music in the Parks and other events presented by the Calaveras Arts Council, go to www.calaverasarts.org or call (209) 754-1774
