CalFire Press release re:fire training

On Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the CAL FIRE Standard Station, 18464 Striker Court, the training division of CAL FIRE and Tuolumne County Fire Department (TCFD) will be conducting a fire control course.

This course will instruct firefighters on techniques to fight flammable liquid fires.  As part of this course there will be a live fire component which will take place, approximately, between the hours of 6PM and 10PM.  A propane fire prop will be used.  This fire prop will produce flames that may reach up to 20 feet and be visible from Tuolumne Road and the Standard area.

The live fire exercise will be supported by two CAL FIRE and TCFD engines, three CAL FIRE safety officers, as well as three highly qualified instructors.   This exercise will be conducted in a safe controlled manner, will pose no threat to the public and will produce little to no smoke.
