Senate Bill 635 proposes 'last call' extend to 4 am

State Senator Mark Leno, a Democrat from San Francisco, has penned Senate Bill 635 proposing to lengthen 'last call' in clubs and other drinking establishments in California from 2 am to 4 am. The bill would allow conversation between the proprietor of an establishment that serves alcohol and the Department of Alcohol and Beverage Control. Leno claims it will help boost the economy as many large cities cannot compete with Vegas, Tahoe or other destinations that serve seemingly around the clock.
Some question the bill and the effects of increased drunk driving.
The bill is currently supported by California Restaurant Association and San Francisco COuncil of District Merchants.
