Sheriff Dept Press Release re:pursuit

On 1/7/12 at about 2406hrs Calaveras Deputies, including Deputies from the Calaveras Sheriffs Department Special
Enforcement Team (SET) conducted a vehicle stop on Gold Strike Road in San Andreas near the mobile home park.
Deputies contacted the driver who was identified as Jeremy Jones 39 out of Stockton. Jones had an active
felony parole violation warrant for his arrest. In addition there was an unidentified female in the passenger
seat. While speaking with Jones he became uncooperative and fled in his vehicle. Deputies pursued the
vehicle into San Andreas and then from San Andreas into Valley Springs at speeds of approximately 80 miles
per hour. The California Highway Patrol deployed a spike strip in Valley Springs in an attempt to end the
pursuit.

The spike strip was successful and caused tires on the suspect vehicle to deflate. The pursuit continued,
however, with the California Highway Patrol as the pursuing agency, and Calaveras Deputies were requested to
assist. The pursuit continued at speeds of approximately 50 miles per hour.
Calaveras Sheriffs Deputies continued in the pursuit into Clements at which time multiple California Highway
Patrol units took over the pursuit.
Jones was taken into custody by the California Highway Patrol on Hwy 88 near Hwy 99 in Stockton. Jones was
booked and is being held in San Joaquin County JaiL. Jones is facing charges in both Calaveras County and San
Joaquin County. Charges in Calaveras County are 2800.2 (A) CVC felony evading,l48(a)(l) resisting arrest as
well as the felony arrest warrant for parole violation.
The female passenger was identified as Jodie Reynolds 33 out of Livermore. Reynolds was also arrested at the
scene for a felony warrant for her arrest for narcotic violations, and a traffic warrant, both of which are no bail.
Reynolds was booked and is being held at the San Joaquin County JaiL.
