CFPD Volunteer Firefighters Receive Chili Cook-Off Proceeds

Today, under the gazebo at Town Square Linda Stefanick proudly presented Don Rollings, President of the Volunteer Firefighters Association with a check for $5, 035.00. The total proceeds from the Chili-Cook-Off benefit Fund Raiser last month.

In the last two years the visitors to the annual Chili Cook-Off hosted by Town Square has doubled, so have the profits.

When asked if there was a plan for the monies a representative of the association stated that it had yet to go to a vote, but the hopes were to purchase portable scene lights to illuminate a night time call scene. It was also hoped that the money may be spent on the purchase of a thermal imaging camera. So when a crew is inside of a structure, the back up crew can actually see via thermal imaging where the firefighters and or victims are located within a building, making it potentially easier to rescue either if necessary.
